Dear Bob Hope School Parents,
It is with deepest regret that we inform you that two parents in our school district have died of COVID-19. We need your help to make our schools safer for you, your students, and our staff.
We strongly encourage you to get the vaccine for yourselves and your children. We also encourage you to send your children to school with masks and instruct them how to wear them properly. If we are diligent in our efforts at home and at school, it will be a much safer environment for us all.

We thank you very much for your help.

Governor Abbott, on July 29, 2021, issued an executive order stating that COVID-19 vaccines are not mandatory, but are strongly encouraged. The same goes for the wearing of masks. As the pandemic continues, Texans are strongly encouraged as a matter of personal responsibility to consistently follow good hygiene, social-distancing, and other mitigation practices.

You can read the entire executive order in the PFF file below:

          Bob Hope School's Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of                Services Plan for School Year 2021-2022

Dear BHS parents,
We strongly encourage you to consult with your family doctor to discuss the potential benefits for children 12 and older receiving the vaccine. If you  have questions, you may contact us and we can provide community resources related to the vaccine. We sincerely hope you will assist us in slowing the spread of the Covid-19 virus, and keeping our students and staff members healthy and safe.

Bob Hope School District will continue to follow State guidelines and the Texas Education Agency (TEA) recommended protocols for the 2021-2022 school year.  The following protocols are outlined below for Bob Hope School District:

  • The use of masks will be optional for all staff and students because it is no longer required.
  • We will continue the practice of frequent hand washing and sanitization during the day.  Additionally, all school cleaning and sanitization practices will continue in the evening as they have since the onset of COVID-19.
  • We will continue to practice social distancing as much as possible while on campus.
  • If you or your student is experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, you should remain at home and be tested to confirm your illness and follow the company guidelines for returning to campus following illness.
  • All students and staff identified as POSITIVE for COVID-19 will be quarantined from the campus for 10 days.  The quarantine period will begin the day after the test is conducted.  No testing will be required to return to the campus; however, the option is available for all staff and students.
  • Contact tracing (identifying close contacts) is no longer required.  Only positive individuals will be required to quarantine.
  • If we are aware of a student having had close contact to a positive individual, we will notify the parent. At that point the student can be:
    • Rapid tested;
    • Remain at school if there are no symptoms, or;
    • Elect to quarantine at home.  If the parent/guardian of the student elects to have the student quarantine at home, the student may participate during instructional time through remote conferencing. (10 days, unless symptoms develop)
  • All campuses will continue to offer the Rapid Test to identify POSITIVE staff and students.  If you have symptoms and want to be tested, you may schedule an appointment with the Campus Nurse.  If you feel that you have been exposed and would like to Rapid Test, you are welcome to be tested.
  • Bob Hope School will continue to recommend that students ages 12 and older be vaccinated. We plan to host COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics to provide the opportunity for all staff and students and their families to become vaccinated at no cost.  Dates will be posted on Facebook and our School Website for your convenience.
  • At this time, if you have been vaccinated, there is no need to quarantine if you have been exposed, per our Local Authority.  Please just continue to monitor your health to identify any developing symptoms of COVID-19 and report them to your supervisor if they should develop.
